If your deck’s frame (joists, ledger board, posts, and beams) is structurally sound, resurfacing is a cost-effective way to get a brand-new look. We remove the existing decking boards and install composite or wood boards on the existing frame, often at a fraction of replacement cost.
If the frame has significant rot, improper spacing, inadequate footings, or code violations — a full replacement is the safer and smarter long-term choice. We don’t just slap new boards over a problem.
Signs you need a full replacement:
- Soft or spongy spots when you walk (rot in joists)
- Visible rot at the ledger board or posts
- Deck was built without a permit and doesn't meet current code
- Footings are cracked, shifted, or absent
